Strategies, Environmental Targets and Performance
Strategies
In response to Hong Kong's Climate Action Plan 2050, the VTC launched a Carbon Reduction Plan in 2022 setting out decarbonisation goals. Strategic objectives are established to combat climate change which include environmental and sustainable measures and workplace health and safety initiatives. We aim to engage students and staff in cultivating a green, healthy and safe learning and working environment.
ENERGY SAVING & GREEN BUILDINGS
Enhancing building energy efficiency and performance through conducting energy audits and retro-commissioning, implementing energy-efficient applications and systems and achieving green building certifications

NET-ZERO ELECTRICITY GENERATION
Promoting renewable energy production by installing photovoltaic panels with solar power generation displays for education

GREEN TRANSPORT
Encouraging the use of public transport, phasing out fuel-propelled and hybrid vehicles, and introducing electric vehicles charging facilities

WASTE REDUCTION
Encouraging waste reduction and recycling practices with waste management solutions and promoting plastic-free campuses by prohibiting single-use plastic

GREEN ECONOMY
Strengthening green requirements in procurement for energy-efficient electrical appliances and recycled paper use, catering and cleansing services and banning plastic bottled water to ensure environmentally responsible purchasing practices
